What kind of Los Angeles County do you want to live in?
What kind of future do you want to create?
One thing we know we all want: Our Future Los Angeles Must Not Be Like Its Past.
This is our past: the worst housing affordability, overcrowding, and unsheltered homelessness in the nation. Rampant racial segregation pushing Black and Brown communities further and further into the margins.
Also in our past: a lack of cohesive response to the housing, homeless, and eviction crises we collectively face.
It is our goal to steer Los Angeles towards a different future.
A future that repairs the broken housing system incapable of meeting the needs of the people, specifically the low-wage workers that continue to be the backbone of our economy. That creates homes where people want to live and helps people stay in their communities. Where communities from Inglewood to Chinatown to Santa Monica to Skid Row all have safe, stable homes, renters have the protections they need, and economic opportunities are easily available in ways that meet people’s needs.
Along with 60+ organization across LA County, AHLA is excited to officially launch Our Future LA on Friday 6/25 at 12 pm, and we’d love to have you there.
This is the start of LA’s future. OUR future. Are you in?
I am in!
